I had no idea that el Lagartillo's history is our history too... the U.S. involvement in the Contras and Civil War in this country (and throughout Central America) is astounding. Our National Guard and Marine Corps have participated in killing these people, and I had no idea.
We share this history.
Not only do I feel guilty for others' crimes, but I feel a sense of obligation (though in the most positive way) to help, to make up for what our country has done. I am very young, but suddenly passionate about this.
Marcella, who Lucy and Diego want to bring to SOU so she will be unharmed here is what I have a feeling to be a project worthwhile. With donations, time, friendship, whatever. I want to participate.
Spanish class with Norma was muy excellente.
It was all review but necessary for me. She understood me. What I will find impressive to share with others is how she speaks no English to me... yet when I don't know a word in Spanish, she has to explain the meaning of the word to me in Spanish. Muy dificil at times. Pero necessary. She uses similarities and "como" a lot to make me understand.

Uncle Dave's sewing kit saved me.
Buenas Noches, arana. O Buena Noche without the 's'
